Joy Monique is a proud woman of color, wife to the love of her life, homeschool mom, performing artist, author, motivational speaker, CEO of True Favor Expressions and Sociawise Events, Partner at CJ's 2 in 1 Enterprise and CVO of For Your Joy MMP (Multi-Media ProductIons). She received her Bachelors of Arts from Columbia College Chicago. Joy also graduated from the AMTC (Actors, Models and Talent for Christ) program as a means to stay grounded in the entertainment industry. 

     Several years ago, Joy and her husband decided that they wanted to instill Godly character in their children while embracing their heritage. They felt the best way to do this was to Homeschool. Connell had seen his wife’s passion for educating her daughters and celebrated this concept. It was all his idea initially. With his Masters in Education and her arts background, this would surely be an adventure!   While co-operating a successful Income Tax business, CJ’s 2 in 1 Enterprise, they ventured off into this optimistic journey. Joy often credits homeschooling with building her character and dependency on the Creator.

     She has also published poetry for Urban Ministries and performed Spoken Word for the AKA Organization and arenas seating several thousands. This includes the Salem Baptist Church of Chicago, where she and her husband met, and Family Christian Center in Munster, IN. Joy definitely has not been type cast. Her acting roles have a wide diversity, ranging from the Virgin Mary and British handmaidens to urban misfortunates. Modeling, commercials and Non-Profit Organization ads have also been a career highlight. 

     Joy has made acting appearances on local Public Broadcast stations and received formal voice training from musical veterans Lena McLin and Shirley Green. She is an Amazon and Spotify musical artist and Gospel playwright. Her latest accomplishments are as an author to several books that can be found on this site, Amazon and other book sites; as well as the writer, director and creator of the Christin and Charity Lil’ Big Sistahood Show and the Joyful Kingdom Kids Bedtime Bible Stories premiering on YouTube. She and her mother also created the For Your Joy (Just Obey Yahweh) Instagram Podcast Show.  In February 2021, she had a successful Grand Opening of her event planning service/Pop Up Cafe’ Sociawise, with a Celebration of Black Music. 

     Performing in arts and entertainment for over 20 years, Joy has a genuine love for people and desires to help each reach their highest potential. She and her husband, Connell raise their children in Illinois. You can catch her encouraging people weekday mornings on her Facebook page, inspiring others Thursdays at 7pm CST on the MO 2 JOY SHOW airing on Rejoice 102.3 FM WYCA. Joy shares God’s joy on all her social media outlets. Her monthly Pop Up Cafe is located in Lansing, IL. This space is also available for rent.
